Life’s a Hell of a thing folks, even in the world of Comic Books it happens no matter what’s going on. Be it while Super Heroics are happening, Aliens invading or debating invading, Time Travel, or Kids/Adults struggling with making a better life for themselves and or dealing with their final days. So with that said my good friends, here’s a look at a few of those titles that cover Life in some way.
Username: Evie… Struggles to fit in, a terminally ill father, and looking for a way to escape reality for a bit (of course being safe about it!) are definitely things quite a few can relate to here where Evie’s concerned. Sure, this book is a little on the Sci-Fi side given the virtual reality aspects but that doesn’t take away from the overall theme of this book.
The Effects Of Pickled Herring… A couple of Jewish siblings experiencing those young teenage years that can be awesome or a pain in the ass and their grandmother’s Alzheimers condition creeping its ugly way in. Stuff many of us can relate too in one way or another.
7 Good Reasons Not To Grow Up… Kirby’s got seven good arguments for why you don’t wanna grow up. I’ll tell ya a big one, it sucks!
Class Act… Teens, School, Unsupportive Parents, and themes of Racism abound in this one. But when you got great friends by your side, you can deal with it all most excellently!
Shadow Life… Kumiko’s just tryin’ to live life to the fullest that she can. If only her kids and Death itself would get the memo!
Through Your Lens… One’s a struggling film maker while the other’s an aspiring writer, its an LGBTQ+ match made in Creation!
Death Metal Duck… Okay, so this one features Anthropomorphic Duck people but come on! Its perfectly given that some find themselves at a crossroads later in life and wanna re-connect with old friends and love for music. Some just might be Duck people when all that’s happening.
Ogre(s)… So this one’s more a fantasy kinda thing given the lead’s an Ogre but this is still about life in its own way. Such as dealing with war at your doorstep and the changes it brings about that you’re forced to deal with.
Broken Gargoyles… Life can be rough after going to War and coming home, and in this Dieselpunk take on life set after the first World War, that’s certainly true all the same!
Frank At Home On The Farm… So this bit of Life involving Mystery and Horror is centered on Frank after his time in WW1. Our boy just wants to be with family again but the animals have a whole different opinion on the whole thing. Making one question things until the very end! War truly is Hell on the Mind.
Renegade Rule… Virtual Reality, Gaming, LGBTQ+, Girl Power, and Life in general all collide here that leaves you on the edge of your seat and rooting for this girl squad!
